A well layed out book

This book has many tables and lists of all the statistics in the Fallout Tactics universe. It also gives information on comabat, charactors (and charactor building), missions, enemies, perks, skills, MULTIPLAYER, and tips on how to win your way to victory. It was easy to understand, the good thing was that it didn't tell exactly what to do. This left the game open, not a complete walkthrough (you know, do this, do that... no fun!). The book really helps make the Fallout expirience ten times better. Buy this book and make the most out of your game.

Passable as a strategy guide...

As a kid I always enjoyed reading the strategy guides to my favorite console games, like the Final Fantasy series. Usually these strategy guides had all the information on the actual gameplay/items/locations, plus added touches like 'bonus features' or 'secrets' and even tidbits of information about the game that owners might find interesting. The pages were in color and you could almost read the guides like a good magazine or even a book.

Not so with this guide. As soon as I got this guide in the mail, I realized I would be disappointed. The quality of the printing is low; small pages, black & white print on normal computer printer paper. There are no pictures of items & the descriptions of them are extremely brief and not really useful. The book covers the missions themselves in a brief fashion (a couple pages per mission) with a general outline of the objectives & strategies, with a couple fuzzy screenshots mixed in.

Nowhere is there specific vendor information, ANY information on random encounters or special encounters (which the book bluntly lies about on the back cover by claiming it does have this information), or a tips/tricks section -- of which there are plenty to discover in Fallout Tactics.

All in all this is a mediocre book and you really shouldn't buy this unless you are some kind of avid 'Fallout' merchandise collector. You are better off going online to look at a F.A.Q. or Walkthrough on the game; this book is cheaply made and only covers the most basic essentials of playing through the game.

I sincerely hope no one would be crazy enough to buy the strategy guide at four times the price of the game. It is a good game, but you can figure out most of the stuff that is in the guide for yourself.

This one is great

Funny enough I have a career in law and am a student of psychology so this book speaks to many of my interests. I feel like I understand people on a deeper level than most, and this book is really spot on in what motivates people and what also holds them back. Most books you will read on the topic are the same thing over and over but this one isn't. There's no fluff of pointless anecdotes. Everything supports and illustrates his points and it's helpful! The part about perfectionism was very helpful to me because... I am one.

I have read several books now by Patrick King. I liked them all and this book is a definite must-have if you are into gaining more success in your life. Limitless is a definite instruction manual written to guid you through eighteen success principles; each principal focus on a specific theme and instructs how to stay on track in your life and stop drifting. The book opens with a forward by Derek Doepker as well which is an added bonus. Limitless delivers what it promises: it shatters your limiting beliefs! In this book you’ll be able to expand beyond your potential; the second chapter deals with altering your reality and has my favorite quote from the book: “Altering your reality is when you change your standard of success to realize the possibilities that are actually available to you."

The book is a powerhouse of solid material well-worth the price of a cup of a coffee.

Awesome book on really finding that potential inside yourself

One of the best books on success that I have read, and that's what it is. It's about achieving goals and overall life success, which I don't think people focus on enough. It made me question what I find happy about myself. That's what defines success with a combination of achievement as well.

I really think the author understands this very well, and he went through the same journey himself, so I think he is a trustworthy source here. Lots of highlights in my kindle version.

At age 10, O'Neal became the youngest Oscar winner in history for her performance in Paper Moon. In this honest, disturbing memoir, O'Neal, now 41, reveals the behind-the-scenes story of her lonely, chaotic life—one dominated by struggles with drugs and damaging relationships. O'Neal portrays her divorced parents (actors Joanna Moore and Ryan O'Neal) as neglectful and abusive, with drug problems of their own. Though O'Neal appeared in such kid-fodder movies as The Bad News Bears and Little Darlings, she says that during the '70s and early '80s she battled depression and attempted suicide. "I found that coke made me feel so much better," she recounts in the straightforward though unoriginal language that characterizes the narrative. Much of the book's second half covers her fraught marriage to volatile tennis champ John McEnroe; these passages alternate between recollections of the pleasure of being in love and having children and the pain of living with McEnroe, whom she depicts as controlling and demeaning. Ten years and three children later, O'Neal and McEnroe divorced. She resumed using drugs, fought child custody battles and watched her mother die of cancer. Although O'Neal speeds through the details, she addresses her addictions: "I wanted to take my own life but... instead... I started doing drugs 24/7. I couldn't stop." She also zips through her recovery, abruptly claiming "rebirth" in the final chapter. Writing this memoir seems to have been cathartic for O'Neal. Perhaps reading it will provide inspiration to other abuse victims and addicts.

About the Author
Tatum O'Neal made her screen debut as a pint-size con artist in the 1973 film Paper Moon, costarring with her father, Ryan O'Neal, and winning that year's Academy Award for best supporting actress. She has been acting on and off ever since, notably in such memorable movies as The Bad News Bears (1976) and Basquiat (1996). Married at age twenty-two to John McEnroe, she is the mother of three children. She lives in New York City.

fascinating read

This book made for page turning reading. After learning about the childhood of Tatum O'Neil, I had to literally pause to absorb what I had just read. That this woman is alive today and functioning (by any definition) is a miracle. Overall, a fascinating read despite some of the uneven recounting of Tatum O'Neil's life story. Despite the neglect and abuse at her mother's hand, Tatum has forgiven her mother and the love she feels comes shining through each page that remembers her mother's later years in life. Even her ex-husband (although this portion of the book felt like it was written in reaction to John MacEnroe's book) was dealt with objectively. However, her father - Ryan O'Neal - is a whole other story! The anger she still feels toward her father is almost tangible. You need to read this book to find out if it is warranted....... Made me stop and think just how important parenting really is to any child. I don't even want to think about what life was like for her brothers Griffin and Redmond. The only gripe I had was the jump in timeline from childhood to marriage. I would have liked to hear more about the Ryan/Farrah factor in her life.

Sad story, fast read

This is one of the liveliest star autobiographies I have read since the late John Phillips' "Papa John." Phew, who knew that the spunky little girl who became the youngest Oscar winner ever was living a childhood from Hell, saddled with a hopelessly, helplessly alcoholic mother and a father, the actor Ryan O'Neal, who emerges here as one of the most abusive parents in Hollywood, a monster right up there with Joan Crawford and Bing Crosby. If it wasn't bad enough that she had a selfish, self-absorbed, verbally and physically abusive father with a serious anger management problem, then, as Freud could have foretold, she chose the same kind of selfish, self-absorbed hothead to marry -- John McEnroe. What a loser this guy is, former "number one tennis player in the world" or not! Also portrayed in a bad light is Farrah Fawcett, who enabled Ryan O'Neal in their relationship for many years and apparently failed to intervene when he would rage and beat up his children in front of her. She must have a terribly low self-esteem also to have tolerated this abusive goon for so long! Now I hear that Farrah is about to have a reality TV series on a cable channel, the highlight of which is scheduled to be her marriage to Ryan! I hope readers of this book will have the decency to give this series and these two pathetic excuses for human beings a wide, wide berth, just as viewers turned away in droves from McEnroe's recent talk show. Bleahhh... It's time we demand some accountability for their actions from our celebrities, as well as our lying politicians and steroid-abusing athletes. At any rate, it's a wonder that Tatum survived her upbringing, apparently due to the positive influence of a twelve-step program. If her unfortunate brother Griffin and half-brother Redmond survive to tell their tales, those books will undoubtedly make for compelling reads as well. Once again this book proves that all that glisters is far from gold, and that the fair faces of Hollywood can hide some hideous demons inside.

an honest act of courage

I read this with my mouth hanging open. I mean, I knew Ryan O'Neal was a terrible father, but I had no idea just how terrible.

My grandmother was an entertainment journalist and a close friend of Tatum O'Neal's mother, Joanna Moore. I played with Tatum and Griffin when we were all children -- pre-"Paper Moon"- and I remember Tatum as a vibrant, funny, happy child.

But this was before Ryan O'Neal cheated on Joanna Moore, dumped her, and eventually succedded in having her locked up in a mental health facility for a period of time. He also actively conspired to prevent her from having ANY contact with her own children, something he was able to accomplish by virtue of his (then) considerable power in Hollywood.

I remember listening to Joanna Moore sobbing on my grandmother's couch as my grandmother promised to try to reason with Ryan and get him to allow her to see her children. She also had to help Joanna get to talk to her kids on their birthdays by placing calls to boarding schools on her behalf since Ryan O'Neal had forbidden school authorities to allow Joanna to talk to the kids.

How horrible and ironic that all these years later, John McEnroe decided to punish Tatum O'Neal for her own (admitted) drug problems by attempting to remove her from her kids' lives altogether. And once again, as the man with the bigger career and bigger bank account, he was able to do the same thing that Ryan O'Neal did to Joanna Moore.

This book is fast paced, cleanly written and brutally honest. Of course many people won't want to believe it or will call Tatum O'Neal a liar, but that's what happens to many, if not most, survivors of childhood abuse of all kinds.

This book explores and determines the critical success factors of Agile software development projects using quantitative approach. The book compiled success and failure factors of Agile projects identified in the existing literature into a preliminary list of potential critical success factors. A survey was conducted among Agile professionals, gathering empirical data from 109 Agile projects from 25 countries across the world. The results revealed that only 10 out of 48 hypotheses were supported, identifying three critical success factors for Agile software development projects. The book should provide researchers and practitioners with insight on the comparative values of success factors, and might be helpful to those managers and professionals considering joining the Agile bandwagon.

Dissertation on Agile success factors

I looked forward to reading "an empirical investigation" of the critical success factors of Agile development. Still, I was disappointed. It was (again) a survey-based study with a fairly small group of people who responded to the survey. Next to that, the author makes some statements about agile development that seemed odd.

This book is the dissertation of the author, Dac-buu Cao. It is written as most dissertations I've read... including the enormous space between lines (to make it seem bigger?). To purchase a dissertation in book form for nearly a 100$ is strange and IMHO not worth it in this case.

The book is structured in five chapters and a couple of appendixes. The first chapter is a general introduction to the dissertation. The second chapter is a literature review where the author introduces agile development and also the concept of critical success factors. The study looks for critical success factors for agile development. The third chapter discusses the methodology (of research) and takes success and failure factors from existing literature to discover which one to look for in the survey. The fourth chapter describes the survey that provided the data for the research. The survey was send to Agile Alliance user groups. The last chapter shows the results and conclusions of the study. Interestingly enough, the conclusion was that people's skill and development practices matter... The appendix is worth reading, it gives some of the comments people wrote down during the survey.

I wasn't very enthusiastic about the book. Especially the first parts were disappointing and contained some possible misunderstandings or awkwardly formed sentences. On p19, the author takes a process picture of XP from "an agile book" which is definitively not from the XP books, it reads awkward. The description of a ScrumMaster as a project lead (p23) is awkward and on the same page, the author includes "daily build" as a Scrum practices... which is just wrong. On p46 the author suggests that an Agile failure factor is when "no unit tests are design upfront" which is an awkward way of explaining TDD. Next to that, the author keeps insisting that agile only works for small projects.

I was very disappointed in the beginning of the book. As mentioned, I had expected more than a dissertation for this price (almost 100$ when I bought it). The book was small, and much space between the letters. It could have been written in about 1/4th the current size. The literature overview etc wasn't interesting and I'd recommend to read a different book if you want an overview of agile development. The survey was not larger or much different than other publicly available survey results. I was pretty certain that I was going to give this book an 2 star review, but then the end of the book suddenly turned out to be more interesting. The results of the survey (people skills and development practices matter!) were interesting to me and the appendix provided some insights in agile project success/failure. Therefore, I decided to go with 3 stars, but still... I would not recommend this book unless you are looking for all research done in agile development. If you are just a practitioner then this book is probably not worth reading.

About the Author
Born in Tokyo, Japan on May 9, 1928, Goro Sakata was awarded shodan in 1956 and 8-dan in 1979. He has served as editor-in-chief from 1960 to 1970 of the magazine “Renju Sekai” (Renju World) issued by the Nihon Renjusha. A specialist in composing Renju problems (Tsume Renju), some of his best problems are well known to Japanese Renju players. He has published several books on Renju in Japanese, including “A Guide to Renju”, “A Guide to Renju Illustrated”, “How to Win at Renju”, “The Sure Win Theory of Renju”, “Gomoku and Quizzes”, and several others.

not bad, i expected something more advance but it's too simple. but i have interested of reading it. it kills time whenever i get bored because the game problems are really fun. im hoping it has more or even the those book contains of problem solvings.
