YES! Finally!

Logan and Cassie lovers rejoice! This is the book you've been waiting for. Angela Graham has once again captured the essence of their love and unique chemistry in this short and sweet novella. I loved getting to catch up with everyone from Julia to Caleb to Jax.

Of course it wouldn't be a true Cassie and Logan story without a few hiccups along the way. When an unexpected surprise comes along Logan seizes the opportunity to do what he's wanted all along...Insert swoon here. But the happiness doesn't stop there. Oh no! Logan's big, grand gesture (this is Logan of course there's one) was just what the doctor ordered to allow Cassie to face her future head on. I loved that Oliver is very present in this book. That little boy melts my heart. The tender moments with him and Cassie talking about his mom were so beautifully powerful. They perfectly encompassed the series as a whole.

The Harmony Series has carved out a niche in my heart and will forever reside there. Not to mention the fact that Logan is prime book boyfriend material doesn't hurt either. When I found out that there would be another book centering around them and their all empowering love I was so excited. Infinite is a short, sweet story that leads up to an event that Harmony lovers have been waiting for. As with all of Angela's books we get, funny, sweet and sweltering moments that will keep you hanging on to every word.

So many emotions in this book which expected. You have Hilary and Caleb having a baby, seeing Cassandra and Logan’s reaction of the baby are just priceless. You also have surprises with weddings that didn’t think would take place the way they did but in the end totally perfect. Oliver is just sweet as a button and you have Logan so caring (like always) for Cassandra and trying to make her feel at ease about how wedding would be. The surprise he pulls out at the end with Cassandra just makes you want to cry. Perfect Ending! I loved this series.

Sound, quick, clear

This small book packs a lot of insight into a very few pages. It points out the virtues of bureaucracy -- and then shows one how to make organizations function better by adding "adhocracy" to the mix. It also provides some helpful tips about why big initiatives so often go wrong in organizations. If your organization is contemplating any kind of big change, this is a book to curl up with for a few hours. The message communicated in this book could be communicated in about half as many pages, but let's admit it, if it were just a pamphlet we wouldn't take it seriously. That stated, Adhocracy explicitly and clearly communicates an important difference between the right way to set up a team to successfully tackle and solve an urgent and important problem and all of the many wrong ways. It also explains why the method works and why less-focused tactics fail. The lesson is so common sense it's hard to refute. This is a solid read for any participant or leader tasked with urgent problem solving or process improvement.

This book of rhythmic studies is intended for undergraduate college/university level study.

Features include:
-lots of exercises in simple and compound metres and some in irregular metres.
-beginning chapters introducing rhythmic cells in simple time (with quarter note beat) and compond time (with dotted quarter note beat)
-following chapters using different note values as the beat (dotted half note, half note, eighth note, dotted eighth note, etc.)
-practice in reading economical notational devices such as measured tremolo, multi-measure rests etc.
-brief introduction to hypermetre
-chapters on different sub-divisions of the beat (e.g. quintuplets)
-introduction of basic conducting patterns
-some 2 pt exercises (for one player) and some with two & three parts for ensemble playing

Kazez introduces many rhythmic cells in both simple and compound time and gives suggested speech cues for each as memory aids. Some examples of speech cues used in this book:

-"ba-ker" - two even eighth notes performed in the place of a quarter note beat (or two even quarter notes in the place of a half note beat, etc.)

-"te-le-phone" sixteenth note, sixteenth note, eighth note - performed over one quarter note beat.

-"pa-sta" Dotted eight note, sixteenth note

-etc.

The speech cues aren't essential to the book though. It's possible to use other rhythmic syllable systems, such as Takadimi or Kodaly-based syllables.

A truly helpful book

For any of you looking for a good book on rhythm reading the book by Daniel Kazez titled "Rhythm Reading - Elementary Through Advanced Training" is quite good. Daniel Kazez is a cellist and teaches at Wittenberg, University in Springfield, Ohio.
It moves from simple rhythmic principles to more complex with lots of practice exercises. It introduces each rhythmic figure as a cell and focuses on the rhythmic patterns with simple word patterns that help in the initial learning. The book also has exercises that contain many rests. So many other books of this type consist of endless patterns of rhythmic figures without rests. Having to count through rests increases the difficulty and gives much better overall musical practice. Most of the exercises are written on single lines and really focus on the rhythm rather than trying to read notes on the usual 5 line staff. Later in the book there are more musical examples to help put the rhythms in musical context. There are review questions after each chapter and listings of pieces of music that illustrate the various rhythms just studied.
All in all it is a very good book for anyone wanting to improve their rhythmic skills.

Pleasantly surprised, but needs an editor

I picked up this book during the free promotion, and honestly, I didn't want to like it. I think I've read everything Alison has written, and the obvious lack of editing in all of her books has gotten really tiresome to me. But I keep reading Alison because she has a unique voice - no, a unique soul. There are other copycat writers, but with Alison you really get the feeling that she is genuine. I expected The Art of HomeMaking to be old and tired, but it is not. Broken out into 30 days of thoughtful "homework" for the homemaker, it feels do-able and fresh even to those of us who have read approximately a zillion books on the subject.

The lack of structure made this book impossible to follow. Lines and even pages repeating and pages beginning with lines that obviously belonged somewhere else made for confusion. I hope my homecaring is not so careless as the editing of this book.

Feel Good Read

I like Alison's books due to the feel good, cozy factor in all her ideas. I very often put them into practice and my home is better for it. I did not give it the full 5 marks due to the cutesy talk and over use of the word scrumptious which really grates on you after a while. If she cleaned up that habit it would be a full 5 stars from me : )
