Great impact on spiritual walk

Got the book in yesterday before work and could not put it down! (Don't worry, I didn't miss work. My boss is pretty lenient on reading during a shift.) The first two chapters are VERY convicting. Planning on taking some friends through a devotional next semester using this book.
As far as content, the book could be considered to have the same target audience as "Wild at Heart", "Epic", and "Mere Christianity". Mixed with Schwab's signature dark humor, wild imagination and rock 'n' roll lifestyle, "Tin Soldiers" is also an entertaining read while giving wonderful insight into how to live as a Man of God in our modern world.
One thing that Andrew points out is the important of "living in the world, but not being a part of it" (that is, not falling to the barrage of temptations our culture is permeated with). This is a wonderful supplement to any reading plan on biblical wisdom, Christ-like masculinity, or witnessing through your life. I personally would consider this a "must read" for Christian men in high school, college, or even starting in their careers. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is due to occasional typos and sometimes awkward punctuation.

Excellent Book for Men of Any Age

I have only read a few chapters, but thus far I am finding this book to be relevant for our times. I personally like the fact that it is written by Andrew and how he freely, honestly shares his struggles as well as the grace of God. Being 42 years old and being a huge fan of Project 86 since Drawing Black Lines, it is refreshing to see that a "rock star" is real, relative, relational, and on fire for God. Would definitely recommend to other men. One small con: I would agree with some other's comments about the typos, but the meaning and message was never lost due to them.

Lacking reasons for what you do?

Every young man I know breaths, parties, thinks about sex, thinks about being famous, and doesn't know how to do it. Schwab's book gives a great perspective of applying an overlying reason to what you do. Not as a priest, geek, inspirational speaker, or perfect person, but as someone who has hit that wall at 1:30 on a Friday night. How am I impacting, growing, improving, or at least doing no harm to myself? Tin Soldiers will help you understand how to live a life toward God.
