About the Author
Alan Dundes (1934–2005), was professor of anthropology and folklore at the University of California, Berkeley, and published ten books with the University of Wisconsin Press, including Oedipus, Folk Law, The Cockfight, The Wisdom of Many, The Evil Eye, Cinderella, and The Blood Libel Legend. He is also the author of Parsing through Customs.

Excellent Source!

This casebooks is one of many that have been edited and compiled by the esteemed folklorist Alan Dundes. As a Folk Studies minor and student who wishes to continue studies in Anthropology and Folklore, I highly recommend anything in which Dundes is involved. I am writing a paper on the connection between the Little Red Riding Hood tales and werewolf mythology in Europe. I knew what I was looking for and found some great information in most of the articles. This book offers some thought provoking analyses that would be valuable for anyone who is interested in the interpretation of the story. It didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but it gave me a great foundation for my research.
